// FALSE FOOTING \\

Nature Calls: A Telephone Box, Malvern Hills, November 2025

Join the Amoeboid Movement…..

    Pull forward our singular cell with its false feet -
    to discover all the ways sliding is possible.
    In what ways do we glide? In what ways do we swim?
    How do leaves move across a page from a single drop of chlorophyll?
Taking a reimagined walk along familiar routes through the Malvern Hills where the artist grew up and has returned to throughout her life, this green-tinted installation explores the phenomenon of Amoeboid Movement - the crawling, shape-shifting motion of cells propelled by pseudopods, as they reach outward, forward, inward, toward.

Bringing together experiments with plant-based inks and automatic drip drawings which mimic cellular movement, alongside new writing, and a limited-edition booklet made by the artist. The traces, gestures, and echoes of movement that once was, could be or will be again are charted and the once-static phone box becomes animate, caught mid-creep.
