Part of on-going work in conversation with the colour green, investigating relationships with plant life, and considering the (im)possibilities and evolution of photosynthesis and the human body. The intention, (and desire) is to get to know what it is to be inside a colour. To become plant intimate through the physical act of getting close-up and close in, skin on skin, so as to move beyond the known edges of what is subject and object, into an innermost unidentified place. The hand leading the lens of the camera reaches beyond what is seen to the eye, with the resulting images becoming obscured, abstracted, through such near observation. This, along with experimentation with scale, and format, sees the resulting images take on an almost painterly quality that obscures the boundaries between what is human and what is other than.
Text pieces, and close-in transparencies of star-shot nasturtiums photosynthesise in the natural light of the window panes; a series of 35mm prints climb the walls; slide transparencies of garden plants are projected small, the slide-cassette clicked through by the viewer.
